The following events mark the journey of Canaan Valley Ministries:
· October 8, 1986 Canaan Valley Community Church organized
· January 1987 Canaan Valley Church signed an agreement with Casa View Baptist Church in conjunction with the General Baptist Convention of Texas to purchase a church property for Canaan Valley worship. Casa View however ended the agreement when community opposition blocked negotiation.
· July 12, 1987, God miraculously allowed Canaan Valley to begin meeting in the store front adjacent the proposed church property the same day we were scheduled and advertised to begin meeting in the planned facility.
· September 1987, Canaan Valley officers signed a month to month lease to begin occupying the chapel of the former Dallas Bible College, located at 8733 LaPrada, due to go into foreclosure.
· March, 1988, Prince and Ives family moved into one of the two on campus dormitories and begin remodeling. Other ministers joined later as the Lord began showing us the vision of ministry to the homeless.
· March 1988 through December, 1989, the ministry flourished with support from all over the metroplex. Nevertheless, the pending foreclosure as well as co-tenants vying for exclusive rights to the property was an intense battle to the end.
· December 4, 1989, we were evicted from the property with only a few minutes to vacate the property. Our residency at the time was approximately thirty ministry and homeless individuals. These were trying times. God however never left us nor did He forsaken us.
· April 25, 1990, we were approved 501c3 non-profit corporate status
· 1999-2000 Canaan Valley Ministries invited to began ministry at Town Park Housing Project in East Dallas. We began morning worship services, Bible Studies, GED and Computer classes as well as Saturday youth activities led by Brother Craig McGaha
