In Paul's final address to the Ephesian elders anticipating the fate awaiting him in Jerusalem at the hand of his enemies, Paul reflects "For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." Acts 20:27 - 28 In a day when man struggles with the existence of God and absolute truth Paul refreshes us with this expression "For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God". Can we hear this by the Spirit? Upon Paul's departure from the Ephesian elders he assures them his job was finished. He is leaving them with all God's counsel. This should give us comfort knowing the Holy Spirit is here to completely prepare us for all good works of God. Paul's teachings throughout the new testament was often punctuated with the expression "I would not have you to be ignorant". I hope you approach these studies confident God will finish the work He has begun in you with the fullness of the knowledge of Christ as our minds and hearts are open to all of the counsel of God rightly divided. In this light I was inspired years ago to present these series of messages "The Whole Counsel of God". I invite you to take this journey with me and receive the Spirit and life of God's word to refresh everlasting hope in the eternal. Peter writes in II Peter 1:3 "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue."

"But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth" II Thessalonians 2:13 That word is true for us. We are chosen to salvation in only one way "through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth" No other way will bring salvation because Christ is the way, truth and the life...
